Christmas in a Day

xmasinaday

Oscar-winning director Kevin Macdonald invites you to capture your Christmas on video this year.  The best footage received will be used to create a documentary film, CHRISTMAS IN A DAY.

“We want to document not just the big day itself but the process leading up to it – getting the tree, travelling to relatives, picking presents etc. I would like the film to be comprised of as much variety as possible, of truth and beauty, happiness and sadness, the mundane and the extraordinary, to create a lasting record of this time. It would be wonderful to reach hospitals, the homeless, families, everything that is going on.” - Kevin Macdonald

Painting an amazing self-portrait of Christmas in the UK, the film CHRISTMAS IN A DAY will premiere at Christmas next year, and contributors will be invited to the London premiere to celebrate the film. The film is inspired by the hugely successful films LIFE IN A DAY (www.youtube.com/lifeinaday) and BRITAIN IN A DAY (www.youtube.com/britaininaday.)

Screen Hi are going to tell a story (or stories) through pictures, sharing online and showcasing at their annual creative industries festival goNORTH on the 5th & 6th June 2013 in Inverness.  As they gather and Storify your pictures, in the lead up to the festival they’ll give you sneak previews of some collections of entries so far and after the festival they will showcase all the stories online.

Open Call for Sound Works

Soundscaping is an interactive installation, facilitating a physical engagement with the audience. The project has been funded by the Art Store, and it will be exhibited in Arch 24 at SWG3 from January 25, 2013. Here is an opportunity to create your own soundscape. We want your proposals for compositions utilising all of the installation – a piece involving 8 separate tracks whilst taking into account the concept of an interactive soundscape.
